Arrests made for murder in Liverpool after man found unconscious, dies

Two people have been arrested on suspicion of murder after a man died two days after being found unconscious in Liverpool.

Merseyside Police said the man, in his 50s, died in hospital after being found on Spellow Lane in Walton on Saturday.

Officers said the cause of death remains unknown at this time.

A 34-year-old woman from Kensington and a 63-year-old man from Walton were questioned and later released on bail.

A 53-year-old man from Knotty Ash who was arrested on suspicion of wounding with intent has also been released on bail.

Det Ch Ins Stephen Ball urged anyone with any information to come forward.

He said: “Spellow Lane is a busy road so I am appealing to anyone who was in the area at around 0900 GMT and may have seen anything or has any information that could assist the investigation to contact us as soon as possible to take.”
