Man dies after early morning shooting in Peoria

PEORIA (25News Now) – A man was shot after being shot early Monday morning in Peoria.

Peoria police spokesperson Semone Roth said police responded to the 8900 block of North Scrimshaw Drive around 12:15 a.m. Monday on a report of four men breaking into vehicles.

While en route, officers were advised that multiple gunshots had been fired from the same location.

When officers arrived, they found a 22-year-old man with an apparent gunshot wound. Police said he died at the scene.

His identity and cause of death will be released by the Peoria County coroner.

There is currently no suspect information.

The incident is still under investigation.
