Trial over sexual assault of Grange Hospital worker fails

The trial of a trainee healthcare worker accused of sexually assaulting two patients has collapsed.

Ieuan Crump, 26, faced allegations he inappropriately touched two women while carrying out bladder scans at Grange Hospital, Cwmbran, in August 2021.

Mr Crump had denied nine charges of sexual assault, including three counts of sexual assault by penetration.

The trial at Cardiff Crown Court had been going on for more than two weeks, but after a second day of deliberation the jury was discharged by Judge Vanessa Francis.
