1 dead, 1 injured after 2 shootings in South Euclid less than 10 minutes apart

SOUTH EUCLID, Ohio (WOIO) – A 31-year-old man died in one of two separate shootings in South Euclid on Sunday.

According to the South Euclid Police Department (SEPD), officers responded to the first shooting at 12:33 a.m. on the 4000 block of Okalona Road, where a 31-year-old man was taken to the hospital with a gunshot wound to the chest.

The 31-year-old Euclid man, later identified as Jermaine Taylor, died from his injuries.

University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center ruled his death a suspected homicide, according to the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner.

SEPD responded to the second shooting on the 3800 block of Salisbury Road at 12:42 p.m.

Officers found a man with at least one gunshot wound. He was taken to the hospital in unknown condition, according to SEPD.

SEPD said they took one man from this scene for questioning.

The two shootings were more than 4 kilometers apart.
