Man identified in Muskingham boating accident

WASHINGTON COUNTY, Ohio (WTAP) – The man involved in a boating accident earlier this month has been identified.

An ODNR case report identified David Lyle Lashley, 55, of Ohio, as the man who died.

The report shows that at approximately 7.30pm on October 20, two men were returning to the platform when the vessel appeared to have struck an object in the water, ejecting the driver and passenger from the water.

WASHINGTON COUNTY, Ohio (WTAP) – Crews responded to a fatal boating accident in Ohio Sunday evening.

Here’s what we know so far.

According to the Ohio Department of Natural Resources, two people were thrown from the boat after it struck something in the water.

One of them managed to return to the boat and pulled the other person back on board.

They then went to a private dock on the 500 block of River Road to get help.

The Washington County Sheriffs Office, ODNR Natural Resource officials, EMS and a Wildlife Officer all responded to the scene.

According to the ODNR, one of the people appeared to be unconscious when crews arrived. CPR was performed by the ambulance service but was unsuccessful and they were pronounced dead at the scene.

The ODNR has not been provided with the exact location where the accident occurred and cannot confirm what struck the boat.
