Taylor Swift’s mom Andrea shares an emotional moment with a teen injured by a shark

Taylor Swift and her family made a teenage fan’s evening very special after she survived a shark attack earlier this year.

Not even two weeks later Lulu Gribbin was attacked by a shark on June 7 along with two other victims on separate Florida beaches and subsequently had her left hand and part of her right leg amputated. The teen received a ‘sincere’ handwritten note and an invitation to the Swift family’s Eras Tour.

Gribbin attended Swift’s Eras Tour stop at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis on November 2, and a post about the experience was shared with a Instagram account documenting her journey on November 3.

“About ten days after Lulu was injured, she received a box in the mail from @taylorswift with a handwritten note from her mother, Andrea,” the caption began. “They sent heartfelt well wishes just when Lulu and the Gribbins needed them, and invited them to the concert of their choice when they were ready.”

Gribbin was in the hospital at the time and didn’t know when she would be able to walk again, but she has made significant progress since June. During the concert, “Lulu, her family and friends danced the night away at the show in Indianapolis and got to sit with Mama Swift herself,” the note continued.

The post’s caption concluded, “A well-deserved celebration for them all!! Thank you to Taylor and the Swift family for the wonderful memories that will never be forgotten.”

According to a video documenting the full experience, Gribbin and her family sat on the stadium floor and she got the chance to hang out with Andrea, 66, with whom she appeared to swap a friendship bracelet in a separate post to the teen herself . Instagram page.

The handwritten note Andrea sent, according to the Instagram video, included a note “From the Desk of Taylor Swift” and a paper flower arrangement.

Shortly after the shark attack in June, Lulu’s mother Ann Blair Gribbin shared an update on her daughter, who was “alert” at the time and “talking” after surgery.

“What I saw is that Lulu is here. Nothing about her personality or funny, smart, loving self has changed one bit,” Ann said in an blog post at Caring Bridge at the time. “She may have lost her hand and her leg, but she’s here, and we’re really grateful for that.”

After Swift’s shows in Indianapolis, she got to work Instagram on Nov. 4 and shared a lengthy note about the experience. “I couldn’t have asked for a more magical way to end our US shows on The Eras Tour,” she began.

“I just had the time of my life with 207,000 beautiful people in Indianapolis who showered us with so much love, excitement and joy… I know I will look back on this weekend and smile because it was like a dreamscape, everything,” the Grammy winner wrote.

Swift added: “Thank you to everyone who came to see us at our last three US shows!! And here’s a gentle but extremely important reminder that tomorrow is the US election and your last chance to vote.”
