Robert Irwin maintains silence on HelloFresh’s ‘unfair’ UK dismissal claims, as Australian influencer vows to stop working with brand

Robert Irwin has maintained his silence after his advertising partner HelloFresh came under fire over ‘unfair’ dismissal claims in Britain.

The conservationist, 20, launched a new advertising venture with the major food delivery company earlier this year, delivering a series of Australian ads for them.

But in recent days the global brand has been thrust into the spotlight after workers at a UK warehouse protested 79 people being released, with HelloFresh forced to deny claims of ‘unfair’ dismissal.

Since then, HelloFresh has also announced its intention to close one of its British distribution centers and is saying goodbye to a further 900 employees.

Amid the news, Australian influencer Danielle Mitchell announced on Instagram that she would no longer be working with HelloFresh due to the claims.

An Australian Instagram account, @influencer.updates.au, also drew attention to Robert’s partnership with the brand when they shared a photo of his ad.

However, TV presenter Robert has apparently not yet addressed the allegations and has maintained his silence on his social media pages.

Although he has not placed an ad with HelloFresh in recent days, he has not spoken about the UK claims and appears to still be working with the brand.

A spokesperson for HelloFresh Australia said: ‘At HelloFresh we pride ourselves on being a company that treats all our employees with kindness and respect and provides a safe and supportive workplace in all our facilities.

“There has been a lot of misinformation and mischaracterizations in the recent TikTok, and we want to shed light on the reality of the HelloFresh employee experience, as the information shared in the video does not accurately portray our company values.

“We believe in caring for our employees and strive to be an employer of choice in every community we serve.

‘We have been in direct contact with Robert about this.’

HelloFresh is known as a popular affiliate brand with influencers around the world, many of whom promote the service on social media and in advertising.

In Australia, names such as Natalie Tran, Celeste Barber, Beau Ryan and Ed Kavalee starred in the food delivery service’s advertisements.

Globally, Neil Patrick Harris and his husband David Burtka also work with the brand, as do a range of British stars including TV presenters and Love Island stars.

Daily Mail Australia has contacted Robert’s representatives for comment.

Australian social media star Danielle took to her Instagram Stories on Monday to address the recent British protests over the firing of HelloFresh employees.

She revealed that she would no longer be working with the brand in light of the news, as she thanked her fans for bringing her attention to the allegations.

“I would like to take a moment to address the recent allegations about HelloFresh and their treatment of employees in the UK,” she wrote.

‘I’ve worked with HelloFresh before, but I want to make it clear that I haven’t worked with them since June/July and I didn’t know what was happening at the time.

“I do not support the reported unfair practices and appreciate those who have reached out and tagged me in videos.

‘I want to be clear that I will not be working with HelloFresh again in the future. Thank you for your continued support.”

Last month, HelloFresh confirmed it will be saying goodbye to 900 employees due to plans to close one of its UK distribution centres.

HelloFris said it had only made the decision after careful consideration and would engage in a consultation process with affected employees.

It came after warehouse staff staged a protest earlier this month after 79 workers were released.

The Community Trade Union, which represents workers, called the news “terrible” and said workers deserved better.

Union officials claimed the layoffs came after some staff complained about working conditions, such as the bathroom break policy.

In recent days, workers at a British HelloFresh warehouse staged a protest as 79 people were released. The brand subsequently confirmed that it will be saying goodbye to 900 staff due to plans to close one of its UK distribution centres.

HelloFresh denied the claims, saying employees were fired for “serious violations of employment conditions.”

The company told the BBC the company was reviewing its operations to ensure it was operating sustainably and delivering the ‘best possible product’ to its customers.

It added that most of the redundant staff would be redeployed to its other sites in Derby and Banbury.

The company also emphasized that the shake-up would be better for the planet.

The company said the move to a ‘two-site model’ would help reduce waste and reduce its carbon footprint, while offering customers personalization.
