After missing Sunday’s game against the Atlanta Falcons for disciplinary reasonsEzekiel Elliott will reportedly be back on the field this week against the Philadelphia Eagles.

According to ESPN’s Todd SagittariusDallas Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy said the running back will be available Sunday, although he has not met with Elliot since last Friday’s meeting.

The disciplinary action came after Elliot missed or was late to several team meetings in recent weeks USAToday Jerrett Belland the final straw was Elliot missing a team meeting the Friday before the Week 9 Dallas game.

“Zeke couldn’t make the trip,” Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said during the pregame show for the team’s radio network (h/t Bell). ‘He was punished. I know Zeke is the first to recognize the discipline that comes with meetings.”

Archer noticed this last week that Sunday marked the first time Elliot was a healthy scratch in the lineup in a game where the Cowboys’ playoff position had not yet been decided.

Since returning to Dallas on a one-year contract After a year with the New England Patriots, Elliot hasn’t had the season he hoped for. He has just 149 rushing yards and a pair of touchdowns and is on pace for a career low in rushing yards.

In his final season with the Cowboys in 2022, Elliot had 876 rushing yards and 12 touchdowns, a much more productive version of himself than Dallas got this season.

Amid Elliot’s early-season struggles, Rico Dowdle was the Cowboys’ biggest contributor in the backfield with 321 rushing yards. Dallas recently too increased Dalvin Cook from the practice squad in late October, though he has just eight carries for 20 yards so far.
