Irving Elementary students learned about different work vehicles

SIOUX CITY (KTIV) – Irving Dual Language Elementary School let its students get up close to a slew of vehicles.

The “Touch a Truck” event aligns with a social studies standard on how different types of vehicles support the community.

Students got to see a fire truck, a police car, a snow plow and even a helicopter!

As part of the event, students were able to see these different vehicles and learn more about these professions.

“I’ve seen police officers, helicopters, firefighters and people helping build stuff,” said Gracy Lopez Irving Elementary student.

“We ask questions about firefighters and police, like if you have any questions,” said Qamar Yusuf Irving Elementary Student.

This was the first time students had a helicopter stop at the school for “Touch a Truck” day.
