Pedestrian killed in early morning crash on Highway 140 in Jackson County

Just before 6 a.m. Thursday, October 31, Oregon State Police responded to a vehicle-pedestrian crash on Highway 140, near Dean Creek Road, in Jackson County.

The preliminary investigation revealed that an eastbound Chevrolet Silverado driven by Anthony Joseph Grubb, 44, of Grants Pass, struck a pedestrian, Robert Allen Dishman, 68, of Yreka, California, who was crossing the highway. Grubb remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators.

According to police, the pedestrian, Dishman, was pronounced dead at the scene. Grubb was not injured.

During the on-site investigation, the highway was obstructed for approximately 2.5 hours.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.

OSP was assisted by the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office and ODOT.
