73-year-old woman found dead in Southfield apartment fire

SOUTHFIELD, Mich. – A 73-year-old woman has died after fire destroyed an apartment fire in Southfield.

Three people suffered minor injuries from smoke inhalation, while another person was hospitalized.

The fire happened on Monday (November 4) at the Le Chateau Apartments on Southfield Road, near 10 Mile Road.

Fire crews from six neighboring communities helped extinguish the fire.

The fire, believed to have started in a second-floor apartment, spread quickly, causing the roof to collapse and damaging or destroying 32 apartment units.
