Meth suspect accused of breaking into a county building during which he stripped naked

SAN ANTONIO – A man allegedly high on meth is accused of entering a county building, stripping naked and then assaulting himself against authorities.

It was around 6am on Sunday morning when this man, Carlos Lee Vasquez, managed to get into this building and proceeded to strip naked.

Then he called 9-1-1 and said he needed help.

“That’s when the nature of the call was a little disturbing,” said Johnny Garcia with the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office. “The individual called from the Juvenile Probation Office and indicated that he had just been shot and needed help….”

He then allegedly rubbed his genitals on the surfaces before calling 9-1-1 again and saying everything was fine.

Because they were so close, deputies from SAPD and Bexar County arrived at the building

“They were able to locate this individual, completely naked, on the second floor and take him into custody,” Garcia said. “It is clear that when someone enters an institution on the weekend, our first thoughts that night are automatically: how did he get here in the first place?”

According to the SAPD report and Bexar County, Vasquez entered through a back door, which an officer said was “easily opened with a strong pull on the door handle.”

County sources tell us this is the same door that many employees have complained about since homeless people were found in the building after hours.

“From speaking to some of the staff who work in that facility, it appears that from time to time the door malfunctions and has issues with actually locking it,” Garcia said. “What we also found in the building, however, was damage to the ceiling, which we estimate to be somewhere between $5,000 and $10,000 in damage.”

Vasquez was also able to enter parts of the building where important security measures are in place for the juvenile detention center and the probation department.

Reporters have filed an open records request with the county for all complaints about the door not closing properly.

We also requested the name of the private company that provides security for this provincial building

“It’s a county building,” Garcia said. “Some of our county buildings are old, so those are some of the things that we’re going to work with our facilities department to ensure and secure this facility so that this doesn’t happen again”

Vasquez was transported to an area hospital before being cleared to go to jail and appear in court because he was reportedly high on meth when he was found.
