Rs 35 lakh cash, jewelery worth crores stolen from ex-Samajwadi Party MLA Madhubala Pasi’s house

Jewelery worth Rs 1.75 crore and Rs 35 lakh in cash were stolen from the residence of former Samajwadi Party (SP) MLA Madhubala Pasi in Jaunpur in Uttar Pradesh. The theft took place late on Sunday, November 3, while Pasi was celebrating Diwali in Delhi.

According to police, the thieves entered the house by smashing the grille of a kitchen window. Once inside, they focused on the secure and iron almirah where the valuables were stored. The burglary was discovered by Pasi’s caretaker, Rajesh Yadav, who took care of the house in her absence.

After receiving the report of the theft, additional officers from the SP and the Crime Branch, along with a police team from the local station, reached the spot for investigation. The complaint was filed by Pasi’s cousin, Rakesh Kumar, at the Rampur police station.

Kumar stated that the thieves broke in through the kitchen window and then gained access to the almirah and safe, making off with valuable jewelery and cash. He added that Madhubala Pasi is currently in Delhi where her husband is a director in the Ministry of Railways.

Madiahu area officer Vivek Kumar confirmed that a case has been registered based on the complaint and a forensic team has thoroughly examined the crime scene.

Police have detained a suspect for questioning and assured that the case will be solved soon.
