Muncy Target employee found dead in store | News, sports, jobs

PENNSDALE – A young female employee at Target, 170 S. Lycoming Mall Road, was found dead inside the store early Saturday morning, pinned between a cherry picker she had been operating and the frame of an interior door, Lycoming County Coroner Charles E. Kiessling Jr. said Monday.

State police called the death an accident and identified the woman as Brianna Burley-Inners, 26, of South Williamsport, according to a news release.

“She was last seen by her colleagues around 11.30pm on Friday. At midnight, as the employees were clocking out, the closing lead employee radioed Burley-Inners to ask her if she was on her way (to clock out). the police said.

When there was no response, the

Employees went to check on her, police said.

“She was then found bent over an aerial platform, with her body trapped between the aerial platform and a door frame wall,” the release said.

One of the employees immediately called 911 around 12:10 p.m

Colleagues manually bypassed the manlift to lower the woman so they could revive her, police said.

Volunteer firefighters from Pennsdale and UPMC paramedics arrived, but attempts to revive Burley-Inners were unsuccessful.

The woman used the elevator at the pharmacy to clean the lenses of ceiling-mounted security cameras, Kiessling said his office was notified.

Somehow she got stuck between the device and the door frame, Kiessling said. The accident was not seen by other employees in the store, which was closed at the time, Kiessling said.

The police reported this in the press release “It was unclear how the incident could have happened. There were no signs of suspicious activity.”
