Goldendoodle ‘Terrified’ of spiders hides in the most hilarious place

A hilarious video has captured the moment a goldendoodle named Bubba ran and hid from an unexpected threat.

The clipposted on TikTok from owner Anthony Scarmazzi of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, showed the moment the three-year-old dog hid in the shower after meeting one of his most feared enemies: an eight-legged one.

The footage has already been viewed 2.5 million times and showed Bubba’s wide-eyed, deeply concerned face as he peeked out from the shower after spotting a spider in the house. The text overlay explained, “Bubba was terrified of spiders. He hid here every time he saw one in the house,” as the dog cautiously stared outside, clearly not ready to face his fear.

Scarmazzi told it Newsweek that Bubba is really just “a big baby” and said his dog has been that way for as long as he can remember.

“He’s basically afraid of everything,” Scarmazzi said. “I’ve been laughing to myself for the past three years watching his reactions and thinking the internet would appreciate his personality.”

The internet did not disappoint as users flooded the comments with responses to Bubba’s fear and shared their own pets’ phobias.

“I would hide there with him,” laughed LauraNicoleXx. “It would take someone to save us.”

Urthighness said, ‘Mine was afraid of flies! She would sit under the table or the clothesline to hide.”

Loria.A08 said: “Arachnophobic pup, me too, Bubba.”

However, not all pets seem concerned about spiders. Fellow dog owner kazza21 shared in the comments: “My little dog catches spiders and brings them to me. I now have to do spider patrols every night.”

This isn’t the first time a dog phobia has received viral attention. Last year, golden retriever Xena became an online hit when she conquered her greatest fear– walking across a bridge in her hometown.

While another golden retriever, Banks, went viral when his owner shared it quite a long list of the things that scare him, including tarps, frogs, boxes, Halloween decorations, and even feather dusters.

Other pets have taken it upon themselves to scare others, such as Odin the dog went into “super stealth” mode to scare his brother or sister.
