Colleges are urged to resolve issues with scholarships and complaints quickly | Indore News

Resolve issues with scholarships and pending complaints quickly, colleges told

Indore: The district administration on Tuesday directed government and private directors colleges in Indore district to address scholarship cases and other pending issues without delay.
During a meeting at the collection agency, the directors were instructed to ensure that the scholarships reach eligible students on time and that the cases are registered CM helpline will be resolved immediately within the specified timeframe. Principals of more than a hundred colleges from across the district attended the meeting.
Directors have been asked to strictly adhere to the timeline for verifying grant applications to avoid any backlog at the institutional level. “Many students are facing issues related to scholarships and documents being withheld by the colleges. We have asked the colleges to address these issues on priority. On the other hand, the representatives of the colleges have informed us of many students who not paying the fee and trying to withdraw admission without paying the previous year’s fee,” ADM Roshan Rai told TOI.
The meeting also discussed outstanding issues under the CM helpline, emphasizing on prompt action to address these cases. More than 35 complaints from students of various colleges are being processed by the CM Helpline. In addition, applications for student transfer certificates, original mark sheets and refund of fees in case of cancellation of admission were highlighted.
Further instructions were issued to prevent any incidents of ragging and ensure that the Supreme Court guidelines were adhered to. All colleges were directed to submit monthly placement data to the district labor officer. The directors were reminded of upcoming events such as Armed Forces Day on December 7, 2024, which encouraged the raising of relief funds for the welfare of veterans and their families.
Other key topics included the establishment and meetings of committees to prevent raids and harassment of women, and updates on college placement initiatives.
The meeting was attended by nodal officer of higher education department MD Somani, tribal welfare association assistant commissioner Supriya Bisen, district head of university Dr Anoop Jaggi, Dr Prakash Garhwal and other officials.
