Patriots release guard to make room for new offensive lineman

The Patriots are making moves on NFL trade deadline day, but they aren’t trades.

The team waives guard Zachary Thomas to make room for new guard Tyrese Robinson. Thomas it was claimed off waivers by the Rams in late August. He appeared in eight games, playing 84 offensive snaps at left guard, left tackle and jumbo tight end and 24 special teams snaps.
