A crash in Gloucester County leaves a man dead; driver wanted

WASHINGTON TWP., New Jersey (WPVI) — A fatal collision in Washington Township, New Jersey is under investigation.

Chopper 6 was over the scene near Orchard View Drive and Fries Mill Road on Monday around 8 p.m.

Police say 58-year-old John DeMarco was struck while walking on the roadway.

He was transported to an area hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

Investigators were initially unsure if the driver had remained at the scene. Officers now say the driver has left.
