Teenage girl sexually assaulted on Arriva bus

The victim was traveling from St John’s Shopping Center when she was approached by an unknown man

A teenage girl was allegedly sexually assaulted on a bus in The center of Liverpool. The victim was sitting at the back of an Arriva 82 service traveling from St John’s Shopping Center when she was approached by an unknown man at around 5.30pm on Monday, October 1.

The man sat next to her and they spoke briefly before he sexually assaulted her as she stood up and tried to walk away. The girl then went to the lower deck of the bus and waited for the man to get off the bus, which was at a stop near KFC, at Bacon Out, in Garston.

Merseyside Police have released a CCTV image of a man they believe may have information following the attack. Detective Constable Susan Parsons said: “This was clearly a very distressing incident for the teenage girl and we are supporting her as we continue to investigate this incident.

“We would like to speak to the man pictured as we believe he can help with our investigation and I would urge anyone who recognizes him to get in touch. There were other people on the bus at the time of the incident, so if you can remember what happened or saw anything, please let us know.”
