Home and away star Rebecca Breeds announces pregnancy

Home and away star Rebecca Breeds has announced that she is expecting her first child with husband Luke Mitchell.

The actor, who played Ruby Buckton in the soap, shared a photo on Instagram of herself on the red carpet in a long pink dress, with her hand on her stomach.

“VERY excited to share that baby Mitchell and @kangarooislandmovie are sooooooooo coming! Thank you @adlfilmfest for having us and everyone who came to support us,” she wrote after attending the premiere of her new film Kangaroo Island.

Mitchell, who also starred in Home and away as Romeo Smith, shared the post on his own Instagram storieswhile I wrote next to it: “I am the happiest man, husband and soon to be father (!!) in the UNIVERSE”.

The couple received congratulations from some of their former friends Home and away co-stars, while Esther Anderson (Charlie Buckton) writes: “Yehhhh!!! Congratulations to you guys, what great news!!!! X”.

Irene Roberts star Lynne McGranger said: “Congratulations Bec and Luke! Very exciting news,” while Jessica McNamee (Lisa Duffy) wrote: “Ahhhhh amazing guys! This is the best news!”

Breeds and Mitchell met on the set of Home and away and got together in 2010, later got engaged in 2012 and married a year later.

Their characters, Ruby and Romeo, slept together on the show, but did not pursue a relationship because Romeo was dating Indigo Walker.
