One dead in crash in Kearney County

MINDS, Neb. (KSNB) – A man was killed in a fatal crash in Kearney County Tuesday morning.

In a news release, the Kearney County Sheriff’s Office said the two-vehicle crash was reported at 10:18 a.m. at the intersection of County Road B and County Road 23, about two miles east of Wilcox.

The drivers of both vehicles were taken to CHI Health Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney with serious injuries. A male passenger in one of the vehicles was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Nebraska State Patrol, Kearney County Sheriff and Kearney County Attorney are investigating the crash.

The sheriff’s office said the drivers and victim were adults, but did not provide more information about their identities or the circumstances of the crash.

A sheriff’s spokesman said more information would be released after families were notified and the investigation was completed.

Firefighters from Wilcox and Hildreth, Good Samaritan EMS and the Kearney County Roads Department were called to the scene Tuesday morning.
