Texarkana man arrested after meeting 13-year-old girl at home, fled when caught by mother

TEXARKANA, Texas (KWTX) – A Texarkana man was arrested on Nov. 4 after a mother found him with her 13-year-old daughter and called police, causing him to flee the scene.

Tyjae Clark, 30, has been charged with aggravated sexual assault of a child, online solicitation of a minor and evading detention.

According to Texarkana police, the mother discovered her 13-year-old daughter was not in the home sometime Monday morning. While searching for the mother, she found her daughter with Clark in a parked car outside the home. When confronted, Clark kicked the girl out of the car and fled the scene, prompting the mother to call authorities.

Clark was stopped “a short time later” by a Wake Village Police Department officer, but he began fleeing on foot. Wake Village police and Texarkana police set up a perimeter around the area, and Clark was eventually seen walking along the railroad tracks before he was arrested.

Upon further investigation, Texarkana officers discovered multiple inappropriate messages between Clark and the 13-year-old girl on Clark’s social media. In the messages, the girl informed Clark that she was underage.

Officers also discovered that Clark is a registered sex offender from a previous incident and has been issued a lifetime registration.

Clark is currently being held in the Bi-State Jail on $400,000 bonds.
