Bomb threat prompts two Chester County polling places in West Chester to extend operating hours

WEST CHESTER, Pa. (WPVI) — A bomb threat prompted officials to extend voting at two polling places in West Chester, Chester County, until 10 p.m. Tuesday.

The Chester County Government Services Center on Westtown Road was evacuated after the bomb threat was emailed, authorities said.

The threat forced two polling stations to move while officers cleared the area.

As a result, voting hours at West Goshen 275 and West Goshen 285 were extended.

Authorities later cleared the area and found no credible threats.

Officials say this incident had no impact on Chester County’s election results. Processing of the ballots took place at a different location and continued throughout the incident, according to local leaders.

The FBI was notified of the incident and is investigating with local police.
