US election results 2024 live: Trump takes North Carolina in first swing state result

Trump just wrapped up at Van Andel Arena in Grand Rapids, Michigan, where it’s 2:09 a.m. At his final rally, he returned to the overriding themes of his campaign: the economy and immigration.

He reiterated some of his election promises, including that he wants the death penalty for any migrant who kills a law enforcement officer or a U.S. citizen.

The former president also spent much of his speech attacking Kamala Harris and Joe Biden and their record over the past four years, but underlined his ambition to “solve every problem facing our country.”

“I think we will get a great result later,” he told the crowd. “I think we’re going to win in Michigan.”

At the end of the rally, Trump’s children joined him on stage, paying tribute to him and encouraging everyone to vote.

“In conclusion: with your vote, we will fire Kamala and save America. We will lower your taxes and inflation, lower your prices, raise your wages, and bring thousands of factories back to America and back to Michigan. and in large part my favorite word will be used: tariff,” he said to cheers.
