Police chase leads to crash in Thornton, 2 injured

DENVER (KDVR) – A police chase in Thornton ended with a crash and two injuries Tuesday morning.

The officer attempted to stop the SUV, but police said the driver fled and continued eastbound, pursuing the officer.

The SUV was struck by a light-colored sedan at the intersection of Thornton Parkway and Colorado Boulevard.

Both drivers were injured and taken to nearby hospitals. Police said the fleeing driver suffered serious injuries that were not life-threatening, and the driver of the sedan suffered minor injuries.

Police said the 17th Judicial District Critical Incident Response Team is investigating the incident.
