One killed, another seriously injured in crash near New England, ND

NEW ENGLAND, ND (KFYR) – A 58-year-old New England, North Dakota woman was killed and a 76-year-old Amidon man was seriously injured in a crash around 9:15 a.m. Tuesday

The North Dakota Highway Patrol said the woman was driving an SUV south on Highway 22, while the man was driving a pickup truck north.

Authorities say the woman lost control in icy conditions on a bridge outside New England, crossed the center line and struck the pickup head-on.

The drivers of both vehicles were transported by ambulance to a hospital in Dickinson.

According to the North Dakota Highway Patrol, the woman was not wearing a seat belt, while the man was. The crash is still under investigation.
