Dr. Sharon Weldon wins the race for Chamber County School District superintendent

CHAMBERS COUNTY, Ala. (WTVM) – Dr. Sharon Weldon has won the position of superintendent for the Chambers County School District.

Republican Dr. Sharon Weldon has more than 25 years of experience with Chambers County Schools and worked on the SUPER platform, which stands for Students, Unity, Professionals, Excellence and Respect. Weldon said she would like to focus on student achievement and meeting the needs of students and teachers. Weldon spoke with News Leader 9’s Justin Brown about her plans as the new superintendent of the Chambers County School District.

“I’m glad I got that percentage of the vote because that says to me that I have a lot of people behind me, a lot of people who trust me to do great things for Chambers County Schools,” Weldon said.
