Big change in the rankings of Test batsmen after the thrilling Mumbai Test

Pant moves up five places to sixth overall after a pair of Test half-centuries, a sure sign that he is back to his best after a serious car accident, with the attacking left-hander now just one spot behind in his career-best fifth position he first held in July 2022.

Mitchell is one place behind Pant – seventh overall – after his rise of eight places and a first-innings score of 82 against India, joining teammate Kane Williamson (second) as the only New Zealanders in the top 10 of the rankings for Test batters.
