Delta Goodrem on 40 years: “I’m so excited”

Delta Goodrem was known for being ‘born to try’ – and she certainly succeeded in terms of her decades-long music career.

Now, on the eve of her 40th birthday, the star is eagerly waiting to see what happens next.

“I’m so excited for a new chapter in my 40s,” Delta recently said of her Nov. 9 birthday.

Now that her career is a success worldwide, she proudly added: I am living my best moments so far, right now, right now.

Having hair Having handsome fiancé Matthew Copley, who is also her bandmate, by her side has also enriched this period of Delta’s life.

“Now I feel inspired and creative,” she admitted.

“I tend to work a lot. I’ve always been that way, I’ve always been an ‘Energizer Bunny’ – I got that from my mother.”

Whether it’s touring, writing new songs or making TV, Delta says: “I move where the passion is! I still feel inspired and excited.

“I’m proud that all these years later I can do what I love and do it better than ever before.”

Last year, Delta completed an international tour and starred in the Netflix film Love Is in the Air.

She also recently toured with the Backstreet Boys and Shania Twain, among others.

“After COVID, all I said was, ‘I’m going back out into the world,’” Delta explained.

She also works harder than ever to stay fit and healthy.

After overcoming several health challenges – most notably her cancer diagnosis at age 18, and more recently a salivary blockage that required her to relearn how to speak – Delta is grateful that her health, career and personal life are flourishing.

“I’m really enjoying getting back to the gym,” she said. “We are on the road so much, so exercise is very important to me.”

Yoga and healthy eating also play a role in keeping her feeling good.

“I feel like we have a balance,” she explained.

While she and Matthew, who proposed in Malta last September, still haven’t found time to tie the knot, Delta says: “I’m incredibly grateful that my partner and I get to travel together.”

Friends also often accompany the couple when they are on tour.

“It’s a bit of a gypsy life,” says Delta.

“But we make sure that while we are in Australia we celebrate our friends and see them and all their milestones. We are finding our way to our version of balance.”

She looks back: “I am most proud of where I am now. I’m at this point in my life where I still feel inspired, excited, and grateful. And I’m really proud that all these years later I can do what I love, and do it better than ever before.

“I think things just get better and better as you gain more knowledge of life and continue to grow and learn.”

And as Delta prepares to say goodbye to her 30s and embrace her fabulous 40s, the year-old proudly says, “I feel like I’m living my best moments yet… I’m excited about what the future holds has.”
