The M6 was closed between Preston and Lancaster for 'a number of hours' due to a serious crash

Traffic in England is already experiencing build-up delays from junction 33 (Garstang) on the northern side and from junction 34 (Lancaster) to junction 33 on the southern side.

The crash itself takes place close to the bend at junction 33.

A spokesperson for Lancashire Police said: “We are currently in the scene of a complete closure of the M6 between Junction 32 and Junction 33.

“The highway is closed due to a traffic accident and we expect it to be closed for a number of hours.

“Thank you in advance for your patience.”
