The 20-year-old appeared at Guildford Magistrates’ Court today charged with perverting the course of justice.

Kilty was working as a volunteer with Surrey Police when she claimed a man had stalked and sexually assaulted her, it is said.

She told police that the alleged incident occurred on September 29 when she was leaving work.

The court was told her clothes had been taken for examination and two statements were made.

But the allegation turned out to be “untrue” as from that day only the man appeared on CCTV and not Kilty, JPs was told.

The charge sheet states: “On the 29th day of September 2024, at Guildford Police Station in the County of Surrey, with intent to pervert the course of public justice, you committed an act, namely making a false accusation, tending had to pervert public justice. the course of public justice contrary to Common Law.”

Kilty was granted conditional bail next to appear at Guildford Crown Court on December 9.

Surrey Police said the alleged offense was not related to the volunteer’s role within the force.
