Woman killed in stabbing in Grand Rapids, attacker wounds himself with knife

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – A woman was killed in a stabbing in downtown Grand Rapids Wednesday morning.

According to Grand Rapids police, the attack happened just before 9:30 a.m. on Division Avenue near Bartlett Street.

The suspect then turned the knife on himself, police said. He is in the hospital and receiving medical care.

Division Avenue remains closed while investigators collect evidence.
