THE NEXT BIG THING: Hurricane Rafael is a Category 1 storm as of 5:30 a.m. Wednesday. It is expected to become a Category 2 storm as it moves into the Gulf on Thursday.

Raphael will interact with ‘cooler’ Gulf waters, very dry air and strong wind shear that will weaken it before making landfall along the Louisiana coastline this weekend. As for Alabama. the moisture plume with this system is large and will bring scattered showers to our state throughout the weekend. If Raphael moving further west, this will limit the amount of rain we will see. For now, we could see less than a half inch of rain all weekend. Alabama fans traveling to LSU should prepare for rain on Saturday. Those staying in the city should also expect scattered showers.

Veterans Day
Veterans Day(WBRC)

Veterans Day is Monday and you can expect temperatures in the mid-70s with a good mix of sun and clouds. There will be no major temperature fluctuation in the next seven days. This is a very mild start to November.
