Husband arrested for alleged murder of newlywed woman in Hyderabad | Hyderabad News

Hyderabad: Five days after a 22-year-old newlywed woman was found dead at her home in Pragathi Nagar, Bachupally police on Wednesday said her husband had allegedly murdered her.
The accused, Kiran Kumar, who attempted suicide, is undergoing treatment and his condition is critical. Police said Sudha Rani was murdered in Kamareddy 28 days after she married him.
The couple had a love marriage. However, police said the relationship soured a week after their wedding and Kiran allegedly harassed Sudha.
When Sudha’s parents went to meet her on November 2, the house door was locked. When they tried to call her and Kiran on their phones, they were unreachable. That same evening, the parents went to her house again to check on her and found the door locked from the inside.
Suspecting a crime, they forcibly opened the door with the help of neighbors. To their horror, they found Sudha dead in the bedroom with bleeding injuries. They also found Kiran with bleeding injuries in the washroom.
The police were alerted, who reached the spot and found that Sudha had already died. Kiran was rushed to a hospital.
After an investigation over the past four days, police said Kiran may have killed his wife and later tried to commit suicide. Police suspect that Kiran attacked Sudha with a knife to kill her.
