Kuwaitis, Iranians and a Bedouin arrested for forgery of documents and drug possession

KUWAIT CITY, Nov 6: In a major breakthrough in the fight against corruption, the Search and Investigation Department of the General Department of Residency Investigation has successfully apprehended a four-member gang involved in falsifying official documents. The operation, carried out under the leadership of the senior Ministry of Interior, resulted in the arrest of a Kuwaiti national, two Iranian nationals and a Bedoun.

The gang’s illegal activities centered around the production of fraudulent sick leave certificates. These documents, with an outdated time stamp, have reportedly been approved by a leading medical center and the Department of Medical Licensing. The suspects allegedly issued these forged certificates without the physical presence of patients, in exchange for monetary compensation.

After close supervision and with the necessary legal authorization from the Attorney General’s representative, law enforcement officials conducted a raid. During the operation, authorities seized several counterfeiting instruments, including devices and official seals. In addition, substances suspected of being narcotics and intoxicants were found in the possession of the suspects.

The Ministry of Interior has reaffirmed its unwavering commitment to combating corruption and maintaining national security. A spokesperson highlighted the ministry’s decision to take strong action against lawbreakers, underscoring the government’s commitment to protecting the integrity of official processes and safeguarding society.

All suspects have been referred to the appropriate legal authorities for further action while investigations continue. This successful operation underlines Kuwait’s continued efforts to root out corruption and uphold the rule of law
