Two injured in two-vehicle crash in Weedsport

The crash happened Sunday around 6:20 p.m. at the corner of East Brutus Street Road and Sheppard Road in Weedsport, a Cayuga County 911 dispatcher told The Citizen.

New York State Police Public Information Officer Lynnea Crane told The Citizen that the driver of one of the vehicles was flown to Upstate University Hospital in Syracuse via a Mercy Flight helicopter. The driver suffered serious injuries but was reported to be in stable condition, she said.

A passenger from the same vehicle was transported to the same hospital by Jordan Ambulance for serious injuries, and Crane said they were also listed as stable. The driver of the other vehicle was transported to Auburn Community Hospital by Auburn City Ambulance with minor injuries.

No tickets have been issued and the incident remains under investigation, Crane said.
