19-year-old murdered in Coconut Creek apartment – NBC 6 South Florida

Police continued the search for a gunman after a 19-year-old was shot at a Coconut Creek apartment complex.

Bryce McFadden was shot to death at the Coco Parc condominium around 6 p.m. Tuesday, police said. Residents had to take shelter for hours while officers searched for the shooter.

“He was that student that everyone rallied around,” said Delvin King, the director of Youth Under Construction.

The principal and students say it was a somber day on campus after one of their graduates was murdered.

“It was very devastating that someone who didn’t have a long life was taken so early,” said student Christian Brooks.

King says another student at the school was also murdered a few months ago. He provided a photo of McFadden with the other student who died from gun violence.

“We do a lot of work inside the classroom, but now we’re trying to go outside the classroom to solve some of these community problems,” King said.

Detectives have not released any additional information about the shooting, but say it was not random.

“To the shooter or whoever may be involved, we just want justice. And this should not have happened in the first place.” Brooks said.
