Buckingham Palace is providing a reassuring update after Duchess Sophie was hit by a golf ball during a royal engagement on Tuesday.

On Wednesday, Prince Edward stepped out in Cambridge to continue royal engagements, just a day after his wife’s accident.

King Charles’ younger brother had the opportunity to meet young artists and see how they have benefited from the Cambridge Junction programme, which first started in 1990.

In an update shared to the royal family’s official social media, a carousel post provided a glimpse into the highlights of the royal visit.

“The Duke of Edinburgh visited Cambridge Junction this week to see the charity and arts centre’s work with young people and emerging artists,” the statement began.

“During the visit, His Royal Highness met artists and young people who benefit from the centre’s programmes, including students from the Olive Academy who took part in a DJ workshop and local young musicians who soundchecked for the venue’s long-standing emerging band night. ”

It continued: “The Duke spoke to pupils, staff and members of Cambridge Junction’s artist development program and rehearsed new performance pieces before unveiling a plaque to commemorate their first royal visit.”

The Duchess of Edinburgh was photographed playing crazy golf as she visited the National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children (NSPCC) as a patron on Tuesday.

However, when Sophie hit the ball with the golf club, it quickly bounced back and hit the Duchess in the face.

The Duke’s appearance, shortly after Sophie’s injury, comes as a relief and indicates that the Duchess is doing well.
