Liam Payne’s body is finally flown home

Liam Payne’s body will finally be flown back to Britain from Argentina to rest today, sources confirmed to Page Six.

The body of the One Direction singer has been held in the country since he tragically fell from the balcony of his hotel in Buenos Aires and died on October 16.

He will be taken home for burial by his devoted father Geoff Payne, who has been in the South American city with the singer’s bodyguard since the accident.

The release of his body has been delayed for some time toxicological tests were completed.

Video from a locally based journalist claimed his casket had already boarded a flight on Wednesday, but Page Six could not immediately verify that information.

As revealed on Page Six, the tests took longer than expected because the medications the 31-year-old singer was believed to have taken before his death may have been adulterated with unknown substances, complicating the results.

A security source confirmed Payne’s body was released from the judicial morgue this week. A representative for the star was unavailable for further comment.

The singer, who struggled with substance abuse, will now be laid to rest after a service expected to be attended by his One Direction bandmates: Liam Tomlinson, Niall Horan, Harry Styles and Zayn Malik.

In the meantime, TMZ on Wednesday reported that police in Argentina have carried out a series of raids on the homes of two employees of the CasaSur hotel where Payne died, along with another of his ‘friends’, as part of their investigation to track down who exactly the singer sold drugs.

As we revealed, Payne is believed to have befriended one of his hotel’s cleaning staff, who allegedly procured drugs for him during his stay, prompting him to concerned friend Roger Nores to alert the manager of CasaSur.

Law enforcement sources report this TMZ Officers carried out the raids on Tuesday evening, while also searching workers’ lockers and reviewing hotel security footage.

It is believed investigators identified Payne’s drug dealer “friend” using text messages on his cell phone, but he was not home during the raid.

Initial autopsy results showed Payne had “pink cocaine” in his system, a dangerous cocktail that typically combines meth, ecstasy and ketamine, as well as other narcotics.
