An incident involving Rever brings Lynnway’s commute to a standstill

REVERE – An incident involving Massachusetts State Police occurred Wednesday morning and caused a traffic jam on the Lynnway.

State Police Revere Barracks received a call about the incident at 5:40 a.m., state police reported. The call reported a man sitting in a vehicle with a firearm on Revere Beach Boulevard and possibly suicidal.

A hostage negotiator, K-9 Unit, and Revere Fire/EMS joined troopers from Revere Barracks in response.

On Wednesday afternoon, it was reported that Ocean Avenue and Revere Beach Boulevard were closed between Beach Street and Revere Street, causing traffic backups.
