Female hairdresser dies by suicide in Nyeri

Detectives are investigating an incident where a 29-year-old female hairdresser committed suicide at her residence in Nyeri County.

The body of Milicent Nyambura was discovered hanging from the roof of her home in Kiandere area after suicide.

She worked as a hairdresser in Githakwa Township, police and locals said.

Police officers visited the crime scene and found that the deceased had hanged himself and the body had been positively identified.

The body was taken to Nyeri Referral Hospital Mortuary pending autopsy.

The motive for the incident was not immediately known, police said, adding they were investigating.

Suicide cases are on the rise in the country, amid calls to tackle the trend.

In Tharaka Nithi region, an Ester Kagendo, who was pregnant and complained of pain during childbirth, succumbed at home due to complications.

The body was taken to Marimanti Level Four mortuary pending autopsy.

In Turbo, Lugari, a 17-year-old girl was found dead after suspected murder.

The girl’s body was found along the road. She was pronounced dead at Turbo Sub County Hospital.

The body is awaiting autopsy at the local mortuary.

Elsewhere in Mathia Kiriko area, Kirinyaga County, a man identified as Charles Mwangi was found dead in his bed.

The body was transferred to Karatina funeral home pending autopsy.

Elsewhere in Kiminini, Trans Nzoia, the body of a 47-year-old man was found lying in a pool of blood.

The motive for the killing has not yet been determined, police said.

The body was taken to Kiminini Cottage Hospital mortuary pending autopsy.

And one Kennedy Njoroge, 45, was found dead after an epileptic seizure.

The body was found half-naked, with the head pointing downwards.

The body was transferred to Thika General Kago mortuary pending autopsy.
