Man arrested in Northwest Portland stabbing

PORTLAND, Ore. (KATU) — Police arrested a 35-year-old man Wednesday and accused him of stabbing someone in Northwest Portland.

Police were called to Northwest Flanders Street and 23rd Avenue around 3:15 p.m.

Officers found someone who had been stabbed. This person was taken to hospital for treatment for serious injuries.

Using a description, police located the suspect, Zachary Kelso, on Flanders and Northwest Westover Road, a block west of where the victim was found.

Kelso was taken to jail, where he faced two charges of first-degree assault.
