NYPD: Man seriously injured in stabbing on Staten Island Wednesday; Looking for tips

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. – The NYPD is asking for the public’s help in finding a person wanted for questioning in connection with a brutal attack that left a man stabbed and seriously injured in broad daylight in Port Richmond on Wednesday.

A 35-year-old man with multiple stab wounds to his body was found on Maple Avenue between Grove Avenue and Richmond Terrace around 12:35 p.m., according to a statement from the NYPD’s Deputy Commissioner of Public Information.

An unknown subject got into an altercation with the victim before using an unknown object to stab the victim multiple times, the police statement said.

The unknown person then fled to unknown parts, the police statement said.

EMS responded and transported the victim to Richmond University Medical Center in West Brighton.
