Hamas responds to Trump’s victory, saying he must ‘work seriously to stop the war’ in Gaza

Palestinian terror group Hamas said on Wednesday that the new administration of presidential election winner Donald Trump must “work seriously to stop the war” in the Gaza Strip.

The statement comes after a report emerged claiming that Trump had asked Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to conclude the conflict by the time he is inaugurated on January 20 if he won the election. Trump ultimately prevailed over Vice President Kamala Harris.

Hamas said: “In light of the first results showing that Donald Trump has won the US presidential election,” they believe he is “obligated to listen to the voices that have been proclaimed by the American public for more than a year regarding the (Israeli) aggression against the Gaza Strip.”

The new Trump administration must “work seriously to stop the war of genocide and aggression against our Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, to stop the aggression against the brotherly Lebanese people, to stop providing military support and political cover to the Zionist entity. and to recognize the legitimate rights of our people,” Hamas added.
