Odds Detroit Lions beat Houston Texans in week 10

Get your popcorn ready! Next for the Detroit Lions is a potential Super Bowl preview featuring CJ Stroud and the Houston Texans on Sunday Night Football.

The Lionswinners of six in a row, sit at 7-1 and atop the NFC North ranking. Meanwhile, the Texans, losers of two of their last three, own a 6-3 record and sit atop the AFC South standings.

Houston, led by Stroud under center, owns the No. 13 passing attack (1,995 yards). The Texans also have a more than capable run game, with experienced backup players Joe Mixon first. Mixon has collected 609 of the Texans’ 1,138 total rushing yards on the season in his first season in Houston. It ranks as the 11th most rushing yards by any team in 2024.

However, the Texans’ passing game has suffered from a few serious injuries as of late. Veteran receiver Stefon Diggs was lost for the season with a torn ACL while going wide in his fourth year Nico Collinsthe team’s leading receiver (567 yards), has sat out the Texans’ last four games with a hamstring injury.

Collins, who reportedly has had no setbacks with the hamstrings and could play Sunday against Detroit.

Meanwhile, on the defensive side of the ball, the Texans are led by a duo of highly productive EDGE rushers Will Anderson and Danielle Hunter.

Anderson has produced a team-high 7.5 sacks, along with 11 tackles for loss and 10 QB hits. Additionally, he has received an overall grade of 78.0 from Pro Football Focus for his efforts. Hunterhas arguably been just as productive in the meantime. The four-time Pro Bowler, formerly of the Minnesota Vikings, has compiled 5.5 sacks, seven tackles for loss and a team-high 13 QB hits. And for his efforts, he received an overall grade of 81.3 from PFF.

Additionally, the Anderson-Hunter tandem has helped the Texans generate 29.0 sacks, the fourth-highest mark in the league through nine weeks. So the Lions The offensive line better be ready to bring its “A-game” in this Week 10 showdown with Houston.

Andersonthe reigning Defensive Rookie of the Year, however, is in danger of missing Sunday’s game. He left the Texans’ loss to the NY Jets last week early with an ankle injury and did not practice on Wednesday. If he were sidelined Detroitit would be a crucial blow for Houston’s defense.

Even if Anderson can play, the Texans general manager is Nick Caserio knows that his team faces a tough task in the fight against the Lions.

“It’s going to be hard to find a better team in the league than the Detroit Lions,” Caserio said during a radio interview this week. “It starts at the top with Brad (Holmes) and Dan (Campbell), the work they’ve done with the program from where it started to where it is now. Nothing but respect, appreciation and admiration for the team they built.

“The team is kind of built on their image and Dan’s image, and they play a certain way. They play with a certain attitude, mentality and overall style that is difficult for us to deal with on a week-to-week basis.”

In this present moment I will give it Detroit a 58 percent chance of clinching the Week 10 victory in Houston.
