Tragedy where a woman reportedly breaks her husband’s leg in Machakos

A 55-year-old man is suffering from injuries after his 53-year-old wife reportedly broke his leg in Masinga, Machakos County.

Nzukini assistant chief Peter Mutuva said the man’s leg broke after it was hit by the woman during a fight between them on Thursday morning.

The incident occurred at Kwa Mumela village in Nzukini sub-county, Ekalakala locality in Masinga sub-county.

Eyewitnesses said the argument started after the woman allegedly ordered the man to get water, but he refused.

“An argument broke out between the couple after the woman ordered her husband to fetch water for domestic use, but he refused,” one of the witnesses told the Star on the phone hours after the incident.

Video footage of the incident seen by the Star shows the man writhing in pain as some residents carried him to hospital in a waiting motor vehicle.

Mutuva said the victim was rushed to Matuu Level 4 Hospital for medication.

It was not clear at the time of writing whether the woman had been arrested.
