Six NH officers fired weapons during a deadly police-involved shooting

PLYMOUTH, NH (WCAX) – One man is dead after an officer-involved shooting in Plymouth, New Hampshire, in which six police officers fired their weapons.

It happened early Thursday morning at the Federal House Inn on Route 25.

Authorities say police were called to a disturbance at the inn Wednesday afternoon, where they heard gunshots and discovered a man with a gun had barricaded himself inside.

The New Hampshire State Police Crisis Negotiation Team and SWAT unit were called in to assist. And officers communicated with the barricaded man for hours.

Officials say that shortly before 1 a.m., six SWAT team members shot the man.

He was found near a first floor doorway with apparent gunshot wounds and died at the scene. His identity has not yet been released.

Officials say no officers were injured and there is no known threat to the public.

Members of the New Hampshire Attorney General’s Office are investigating.

The names of the six officers who fired their weapons are being withheld pending formal interviews, which is normal protocol.
