City of Amarillo announces Veterans Day closures, schedule

In honor of Veterans Day, several offices in the city of Amarillo will be closed on Monday, November 11, and some city services will be adjusted to a holiday schedule.

Buildings closed Monday include City Hall, the Amarillo Public Library System and the Amarillo Municipal Court.

Amarillo City Transit runs Saturday service on Mondays.

The Veterans Day schedule for Solid Waste (waste collection) is as follows:

• For collection from private individuals, Monday routes will be serviced on Tuesday, November 12, and Tuesday routes on Wednesday, November 13.

• The schools will be maintained as planned on Monday. All other commercial customers will be served on Saturday, November 9 and Tuesday, November 12.

• The cleaning locations are closed and there will be no curbside collections on Mondays. The city’s landfill will also be closed Monday.

All city golf courses are open normally during the holidays.
