The Houston Cinema Arts Festival is proof that the Bayou City has a place in the film world

Houston – The 16th Annual Houston Cinema Arts Festival starts today!

The lineup promises a lineup of unique films, dozens of interactive experiences and discussions with filmmakers that will celebrate Houston’s rich cultural diversity. Spanning 11 days in multiple locations across the city, the festival offers Houstonians the chance to encounter local and international stories on the big screen.

Katie Creeggan-Ríos, executive director of the Houston Cinema Arts Society, joined Houston Latino Film Festival director Dave Cebrero to explain the mission of the festival and the collaboration with the LFF.

A highlight to look forward to is the celebration of the 10th anniversary of CineSpacea competition in collaboration with NASA that invites filmmakers from around the world to incorporate NASA archive footage into their films. Filmmaker Richard Linklaternative of Houston, will judge the CineSpace entries, with cash prizes awarded to the winners.

Tickets for individual screenings range from $10 to $18, while passes for the full festival experience, including exclusive parties and concerts, are available for $250. The organizers of the Houston Cinema Arts Society were kind enough to offer a discount code for Houston Life Viewers. When ordering tickets online, use the code “HOUSTONLIFE” for a 20% discount.
