BC man with autism poses for photos with thousands of celebrities

For as long as Adam Davies can remember, he has had only one dream.

“I wanted to be one of the reporters interviewing the stars,” says Adam.

Adam got his first chance to meet a celebrity when he was about nine.

‘Sharon, Loïs and Bram!’ Adam smiles, before showing a photo of the children’s entertainers that he had them all sign.

“It was really good,” laughs Adam. “I was happy.”

It felt so great, he started striving to collect as many signatures as possible.

“I like seeing different (film) sets,” says Adam. He visits every setting in the city. “It’s so cool to see behind the scenes.”

Adam also shows up at every major concert and sporting event, armed with a few markers and a backpack full of memorabilia, waiting for a celebrity to sign something.

“It can take a long time,” Adam laughs, adding that he can wait hours before reaching his goal.

But his patience is rewarded. Adam’s room is filled with all kinds of signed items, including a remarkable collection of CDs, with signatures from Bublé to Beyoncé.

“I love that!” Adam smiles.

But even better than that is when famous people agree to take pictures with him. You can see from it Adam’s Instagramthere have been more than a few.

“Thousands!” Adam smiles. “Thousands and thousands!”

The list includes big stars like Johnny Depp, Uma Thurman and Owen Wilson.

Adam says the photos are always taken after a polite request, and often after the revelation that he is on the autism spectrum.

“I want to let them know about me,” Adam says. He passes handwritten notes to the stars or holds up large signs introducing himself.

These interactions usually create a much more meaningful connection than if Adam were simply the kind of entertainment reporter he once hoped to be.

“I feel good,” says Adam.

Like when Billy Bob Thornton recently told Adam something he said he had never revealed to a Hollywood reporter before, something that Adam respectfully keeps between them.

“It feels overwhelming,” Adam laughs. “Good overwhelming.”

Because why limit yourself to realizing a long-cherished dream, Adam has learned, when you can make your current reality even better.
